What App Graveyard is
App Graveyard is a curated archive of honest postmortems from failed, abandoned, and stalled apps. It includes failure lessons, editorial analysis, revival opportunities, and founder-submitted stories. By using the site, you agree to use it respectfully and lawfully.
What you can submit
- Only submit content you have the right to share. Do not submit stories about apps or teams without appropriate knowledge or permission.
- Do not submit private user data, confidential company information, credentials, personal attacks, doxxing, or false claims.
- Submissions may be edited, structured, rejected, archived, or removed at our discretion.
- If you submit on behalf of a team, company, or another founder, you represent that you have permission to share the information.
- Nothing is guaranteed to be published. We review every submission before it goes live.
How we publish
- Every postmortem is reviewed by an editor before publication. Nothing auto-publishes.
- Some early examples are anonymized composites based on common failure patterns. These are labeled as composites.
- Metrics (revenue, users, traffic, cost) are self-reported by the builder unless otherwise stated. App Graveyard does not independently verify these numbers.
- Scores (revival potential, demand signal, lesson value, etc.) are editorial assessments, not scientific measurements.
- Users should do their own diligence before relying on any postmortem or revival opportunity.
Privacy & contact info
- Private emails and contact details submitted through forms are used only for editorial follow-up. They are never displayed publicly unless you explicitly allow it.
- Anonymous submissions are welcome. Public attribution fields are removed before publication when anonymity is requested.
- You can request corrections to or removal of your published postmortem at any time.
See our Privacy & Removal page for more detail.
Revival, sale & partnership interest
- App Graveyard may display founder intent (open to sale, partnership, rebuild, etc.) when the founder has opted in and given consent.
- Users are responsible for their own diligence before entering into any deal, collaboration, or financial arrangement based on information found on this site.
App Graveyard may help connect interest, but does not verify assets, guarantee deals, broker transactions, hold funds, or provide legal, financial, investment, or business advice.
Not business, legal, or investment advice
Postmortems, revival scores, demand signals, and editorial analysis on App Graveyard are informational and educational. They are not business, legal, financial, or investment advice. Make your own decisions based on your own research.
