You control what's public.
App Graveyard is built around explicit publishing consent. You choose what can be public, what stays private, and whether people can contact you through App Graveyard.
Need something corrected or removed?
Email contact@appgraveyard.com with the app name, the requested change, and any context that helps us verify the request. We review correction and removal requests promptly and honor reasonable requests from verified builders or submitters.
What we collect
When you submit a postmortem, we collect the information you provide in the form. This includes your app details, story text, and optionally your name, website, and email.
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate site traffic, popular pages, referral sources, scrolling, and outbound clicks. This helps us improve the archive and decide which postmortems are useful to readers.
We do not run ad networks, sell visitor data, or use analytics data to publish identifying information about visitors or submitters.
What stays private
- Your contact email
- Private notes and editorial correspondence
- Unpublished or pending submissions
- Admin and editorial review notes
- Identity fields when anonymous is selected
- Non-consented metrics, founder intent, or revival status
We may retain limited private records when needed to prevent abuse, resolve disputes, or maintain editorial integrity.
What can become public
- App name, if you allow it
- App description and story
- Failure reason and lessons learned
- Approximate metrics, if you consent
- Founder intent and revival status, if you consent
- Available assets, if you consent
- Editorial scores and analysis, after review
How we use submissions
Submissions are reviewed by an editor before anything goes live. We may follow up to fill in details, clarify claims, or get your approval on the final draft.
Your email is never displayed publicly. It is only used by our editorial team for follow-up.
Anonymous submissions have all public attribution fields removed before publication. Contact emails, when provided, remain private.
Nothing auto-publishes.
Your story enters a private editorial queue. Nothing is public yet.
An editor reads, follows up if needed, and structures the postmortem.
When contact details are provided, we aim to follow up before publication. You can request changes or withdraw at any time.
Corrections & removal
If you are the builder or submitter of a published postmortem and want to correct information or request removal, email contact@appgraveyard.com. We review requests promptly and honor reasonable requests from verified builders or submitters.
Contact through App Graveyard
If a founder allows contact, App Graveyard may relay serious revival, partnership, or acquisition inquiries. We do not publicly reveal founder email addresses. All inquiries are reviewed before anything is forwarded.
Scores & analysis
Scores (revival potential, demand signal, etc.) are assigned by App Graveyard editors after review. They are directional assessments, not scientific measurements. Metrics reported in postmortems are self-reported by the builder unless otherwise noted.
Analytics
App Graveyard uses Google Analytics 4 for aggregate traffic and engagement reporting. GA4 may use cookies or similar browser storage to measure visits. We do not use ad networks or sell visitor data.
Want control over how your story is shared?
